22 shock issue

I have a weird happening with one rear shock after rebuild today

I noticed that it wasnt free and catching on movement so instantly thought shock shaft.

But it appears that it may be the shock body? inside? having run the piston and a new one up and down from both ways it still catches

My question is can a shock body really be warped?

shock body

Try unscrewing the black cap at the bottom of the shock body a quarter to half a turn as this reduces the bind from the o rings. Or it may be that the guide inbetween the o rings needs replacing as its not allowing the shaft to run true

Could also be a small burr on the piston, try a dremel to ensure they are even all round.

try the piston and shaft in the other shock body mate! I did see a damaged shock body at the weekend or though it was not a losi one!

yea i took all the o rings out so jus purely to alloow piston movement and inserted one end and the other.

Piston is fine i tried a brand new one aswell to check it seems the body has wapred which is very disappointing

I am going to try it in other shock tomorrow, its weird as the shaft show the gold coming off for half the shaft which would push me towards shaft problem on first glance, its just when inserted wrong way in it still does it where the shaft plays no part

ive ordeed new shock shafts but it seems that was a mistake doh

I know you mention you've checked the pistons but just check again... I had a similar problem when i built mine, tried new pistons etc but nothing worked... Sure enough it was the smallest amount of "flashing" left on the piston when it had been taken off the spru

dent in shock body

that sounds most plausable that a dent has occured
