TRF201 + TRF511 developments ???
On reading Jimmy's interview with Lee Martin at the Talywain Nationals, Lee mentions that'll we will see some developments on both the TRF201 + TRF511. [see here --> http://www.oople.com/rc/photos/2011national-talywain/ ]
So just wondered if anybody knew whether these were going to be (i) aftermarket tuning parts, (ii) new Tamiya hop-ups, (iii) another new Tamiya kit to save up for???? :) |
new chassis for the 511 without the cell slots would be ace!

Hello!
What about stocks of trf511? I can't find it in all shops, where are they? Discounted? |

the only thing i know is that Tamiya will release a Carbon fiber Battery holder for the TRF201, but since Jimmy wrote "2WD developments" i am very curious what this could be, maybe Fredrik has some news for us?
This is the Battery holder: |
Hmmmm...
I don't know Nige, but I am getting very tempted to build my 511 too! I should never have taken the cellophane off :)

Lee will probably have those bits on his cars a few months before they are released.
So I guess we will have to zoom in and take a closer look at the pics.:) Maybe some new parts for 502X too, who nows?;) |

hoping to see the HD blue center drive shafts some time soon! |
re
i know this is a 511 and 201 topic, sorry for chatting about the 502x
i found this pic of i think lee's 502x at the vaasa race. looks like the slipper has brass cups?? Also the servo mounts are blue alloy, are these available yet? And the way he is running the front and rear upper arms, wonder what the benefit of that is.. http://i533.photobucket.com/albums/e.../AI8R23181.jpg |
Is there an ETA on that battery strap for the 201? That is a nice looking piece of carbon.

Re. The upper arm, if you look at the geometry of the 511 vs 502, the inner camber link on the 502 is far too high, by flipping them you can lower the ballstud to sit just above the diff and generate more grip.
For reference, cut up a set of camber links, mount the cut up screw hole bits the right way up, then 4mm of spacers, then another full camber link upside down so the ballstud is underneath! Need some little spacers as well to go inside the camber link holes, and @24mm screws instead of kit 16mm. Does that make any sense at all?? |

Are those brass slipper clutch drive cups?:woot: |
I wouldnt have thought they would be brass as wouldnt that wear really fast under all that strain? maybe they are steel but coated like the shock bodies?
I think the blue servo posts are from a touring car. Maybe someone will correct me on both? |
Im pretty sure the servo mounts are off either the 416 or 417 or they are an option for one of them
