Saw this on friday night. Slipper was slipping too much, and metled the spur.

could it be the slipper plates? they seem to be very hard and not gripping, on the last try i had it that tight there was no gap in the spring and i could still turn it?

If its been slipping a lot it can glaze the slipper pads and then its really difficult to stop it slipping no matter how tight you set it. Take out the pads, either turn them over or lightly rub them down with sand paper. Slightly rough pads will work much better. It needs to slip for 2-3 feet if you nail the throttle from a standstill. I always like a little slip but enough bite to pop the jumps. Hope this helps.
