Can't get a 21 pinion on 75 spur
I put a 6.5 motor in but the lowest pinion i can put in is a 23t.with a 75 spur.It has way to much top end to race indoors.was looking to put a 21,22 in.
so is there a upgrade motor plate or do i drill it out,or put a 81 spur on? if i put a 81 spur on witch size pinion do i use? |

Good question.............:woot:  |
With a 6.5 you want to be around the 21/22 range with an 81 spur, 75 is a bit too small to gear faster motors properly unless you are going for a land speed record :p

I've never run anything slower than an 8.5 in mine but I'd say start around 23-25 pinion and 78 spur depending on the motor brand :)

Sorry to gatecrash the thread, but I've got a 10t sensorless brushless on order for my b4. Will I be needing a 24/25 pinion using a 78 spur?

@ACORN - I'm running a 10.5 outdoors with a 74 spur and 26 pinion, no timing on the motor but running a stock spec speedo, the motor comes off around 40 deg. C. Might be a good starting point for you.

Cheers mate, appreciate the help.

You are right Richard. It was like a missile and uncontrolable.I did more laps with my 10.5 in.so im sticking to the 10.5 for indoor.I do want to try a outdoor race soon.so i'll get a 81 spur ready for the 6.5.
