X-6 Wing Position

what effect is having the wing forward doing to the handling compared to it's standard postition?
I know now having tried one @ TRCC running the wings back to back over 3 laps while the batteries were fresh. Ran a kit standard wing v a cut down one.

With the wing forward the car has less of a tendancy to want to fish tail. Smoothed the car out.
Also cured a bit of grip roll on one corner to as there was less bite from the rear.

I'm a convert thanks to Chris Long http://www.one-ten-rcforums.com/2wdr.../big_smile.png

don't forget to vote & post your reasoning for your choice :D

seems to help over the jumps
smooths the back end out

i move mine forward as it seems to stablise the car a bit more and makes it more controllable in the air.

My original reason was the big air jumps such as Batley and Bury. The car jumped well but it was asif I had a brick on the back and as the car started to land, it dumped the rear every time.

At Bury, with standard wing, if it was a windy day I was lucky to get many clean laps in! crazy.

Cut down wing, since I did it in June 07, I will never go back....

As Chris, initially balance in the air but nw I beleive belance everywhere. I leave the wing sides full but cut the gurney to about 5mm and I cut the front around the tower for personal taste in looks.

i have had mine forward since the very beginning after having ago with someone elses in the standard position i didn't like it the car grip rolled or was on two wheels more than 4, the car feels overall alot nicer with it forward :)

It was jumping at bury when i first got my X6 that made me move it as far forward as poss and cut the gurney down.

In the standard position, going over jumps the wing would hit the air and the front end lift up making the car land in a vertical position, rather than smooth and straight.

This is fairly conclusive then?
