My £3.85 Nitro engine pre-heater,
Ingredients:
1 x 12v H7 Car headlamp bulb 1 x small tin of sweetcorn (emptied of course) 1 x 12v bulb connector plug (the £3.85 bit) 1 x S/Steel jubilee clip 1 x piece of thick wire for a handle 2 x crocodile clips & wire http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...i/DSCN0784.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...i/DSCN0785.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...i/DSCN0786.jpg Thought i'd share as it seems to work well. 3-4min warm up & i can't touch the engine for heat ! It cools down within a minute or so. Don't have a temp gauge though would be intersting to know how hot the engine gets. Just finished running in a new engine using it & it never failed to start on the 1st pull. I know you'd hardly sell one looking like this, lol, but it was cheap as chips :D |
re
nice idea, i used a hair dryer for my cen nemesis, but never worked as well as i would have liked.. your mod is a great helper when breaking in tight sleeved engines.
would be nice to know what temp it gets too?? |
i like this:thumbsup: and im going to make one :D cheers for the idea

Clean it up a bit and put some high temp paint on it and count me in. It looks like a great idea to have one since I'm just getting into nitro engines. Might have to pick one up for the tool box!
