JOB TITLE: Returns Technician

TYPE: Permanent

SALARY: £14,000

LOCATION: Marple, near Stockport, Cheshire- North West

HOURS: 10am-6pm Mon-Fri

We currently have a vacancy for a returns technician in our busy warehouse near Stockport.

This role requires a motivated individual with great attention to detail and a professional approach.

You must have experience of fixing, repairing and maintaining radio controlled models of different power sources including electric, nitro, and petrol. We repair cars, boats, helicopters, planes, jets and tanks, and experience of each of these would be desirable. The job involves receiving models returned to us for whatever reason, booking them in, assessing them, quoting for repair where necessary, repairing, testing and completion of paperwork required to return the model to the customer. The role will also include the testing of sample models that may be added to our range. Due to your level of expertise on models and how they work, you may be called upon to assist other staff with technical questions they may have. You will be able to work on your own to deadlines, and also be part of a bigger team.

Nitrotek sell, and support radio controlled models online both in the UK and throughout the EU and beyond.

If you live and breathe rc models, and think you have the mechanical skill and experience required, please email CVs and covering letters to [email protected]

PLEASE DO NOT CALL - APPLICATIONS WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTED BY EMAIL.

Thanks

Roger

For £14000!!! How much are the other staff earning?

daz 27-05-2011 09:39 PM

All that work for slighty more than the national minimum wage. Cracking job for someone tho.

"returns technician at Nitrotek" whoever gets that job will be busy, their stuff is garbage.. what i've seen of the Nitrotek range they are cheap Chinese copies & badly made imitations of Maverick cars, HPI's & Tamiya TL01's

stoff 30-05-2011 11:43 AM

A little bit harsh that Wolfie. I've had a few models from them now (planes and helis), not had a problem so far.

With the rise of OEM products it's not difficult to find more than one brand that share the same design. After all they're all made in the same factories or the same area of China; Shenzhen. Maverick and HSP look almost identical, which came first, who knows...

With any company you're going to get some returns based on a percentage of what you sell and the market where you're selling. Looking at the prices Nitrotek seem to be aiming towards the beginner/casual user/basher. I bet a lot of returns they get are simple 'oooh I can't start my car' or 'my radio is faulty, why is there a battery case on the car?'...

I think a lot of people have prejudices based on rumour or inaccuracies posted by keyboard warriors.

Looks like they're getting GS Racing in soon. Might get a CLX

I get what you are saying, but let's be honest, how many shops & leading RC websites (e.g Modelsport, Apex, JESpares etc) do you see selling their products? Other than direct mail order via their own site i'm yet to see any, so doesn't that tell you something?

Plus i've asked in a local model shop a while back & spoke with some other people in the industry about if they stock Nitrotek products & asked the question are they any good as some of the products do look the part & are tempting to buy if you have a kid in the family who wants to get into RC with just his/her pocket money to spend or to buy as a present to get them started in the hobby, however whoever i've asked all say they have had demo's of the products & they are so awful they wouldn't consider stocking them because it's more bother than it's worth.

Maybe they are better now as that what a while ago, but i stand by my earlier comment that there must be some reason why the big shops (& most of the smaller ones) don't stock their products.
