Are you using saddles ? Screw heads are fine, just make sure the tip on your driver is good ;)

Not gonna fit, needs saddles or a stubby losi lipo.

Juttie 26-05-2011 05:25 AM

oh i thought you only needed stubby if running mid motor this is getting expensive lol new batt needed then.

A stick pack should fit just fine in a rear motored car, which one are you using? is it super large?

So the batteries are to tall? If it has the bumps for fitting in Ni-MH chassis, you could just dremel those down. Also removing the foam strips from the chassis can make a bit more room.

ianhaye 26-05-2011 05:25 PM

the turnigy 5200 are massive!! way to tall.

Juttie 26-05-2011 06:26 PM

I now know that :) if i took it out of the hard case cand you get like some heat shrink to cover the batt back up?????

I ran those batteries by taking off the top half of the battery case. Sounds funny, but works great.

WTF!

I don't think my local clubs will allow that!

Juttie 27-05-2011 11:53 AM

can anyone then recommend a lipo that does not cost the earth

jcb 27-05-2011 12:15 PM

I'd have a peak on the brca homologation list on, at least that way you know they are legal for BRCA meetings and have passed the relevant safety tests.

The obvious answer to batteries would have to be the xcelerin range, but I have no idea how much they cost.

Intellect's from ebay are pretty good value. The Losi, Vampire and Orions are all decent value for UK-sourced Lipos. HTH

Full lipo in mid

3 Attachment(s)
Have put a stick lipo in my son's 22 in mid set up.
With lrp sphere and original shell.
Made an ally plate with 4 mounting posts.the two at the front are a bit longer just so the lipo clears the low profile servo.
So please people no more moaning about no room for electrics,it can be done with a little bit of thought.
