if it was not for mike reedy we would be racing in dark ages

r.i.p mike and god bless family

traffman 17-05-2011 04:14 PM

Oh R.i.p , i remember when i started forst time round back in 1987 on the club circuit i allways admired him and was envious of the reedy internationals.

What a great great visionary he was.

My sentiments to all his family and friends.

Projectzip 17-05-2011 04:17 PM

I can only dream of leaving such a legacy behind.

As a young boy reading Model Cars magazine I sat and longed for the day I could buy a Reedy motor.

RIP

having done a Uk reedy off and on road meeting and met him, he was the biggest pioneer in this hobby

/tobys 17-05-2011 04:34 PM

A true RC legend...will be sorely missed.

Condolences to the Reedy family.

igbandy 17-05-2011 04:39 PM

As Many people have already said, an RC legend and a true gentleman.

I met him in I think 1992 at the 1/10 off road British Grand Prix at the NEC. A totally unasuming Guy and a pleasure to talk too.

Welshy40 17-05-2011 04:41 PM

Having done a Reedy invitational event and the worlds warm ups at basildon and met him i have to say nice chap but life has to end and Mike had a good run and achieved a world staus. A legend he still is.

A sad day indeed. Having had the good fortune to have spent some time with him other the years, it has been a an honour to know him and to appreciate what he did and his wry sense of humour. RIP Mike.

mr reedy

i was very fortunate to meet mike many many years ago at a reedy international at the nec in birmingham, i rate it as one of the most pleasurable 60 mins of my rc experience.
he was a very approachable and nice mannered man, i still gives me great pleasure to tell people i met and spent time with him.

a true gentleman r.i.p.

john333 17-05-2011 06:40 PM

yet more sad RC news, he had to be the biggest name in racing bar none. A very great loss to our sport

russmini 17-05-2011 06:53 PM

A true RC Legend.

One of the pioneers who bought the 'sport' to where we know and love it to be today. There was and still are others, but everyone knows his name.

Many ideas, for racing overall, not just the motor side.

A very sad loss and like others, i met him breifly at the worlds in 93 at Basildon. A very nice man he was too.

R.I.P
