Front dampers harder than rears?
 

Hey guys,

i am running this configuration in all of my cars and have never seen another setup, no matter if it is 2WD or 4WD, 35wt Front, 30wt Rear, 40wt Front, 35 wt Rear and so on.
Could somebody explain to me the technical sense of a harder dampened Front than Rear?

The short answer to dampening front more than rear has to do with balancing the "roll center". The roll center has to do with the pivoting point and the lean of the chassis. Both the front and rear suspension of the car need to cooperate with each other to maintain traction and control..

All of your steering is in the front, so this is where the majority of force shifts from left to right as you are making a turn - it is also the point the chassis will lean the most..

More dampening is needed in the front to balance out these forces and keep your car planted on the track..
