Spring chart ... measured on the same equipment

1 Attachment(s)
As promised here is the chart comparing all the springs from the different manufactures.
The measurements where taken using an automated spring tester I have at work.
The method was to start with the spring unloaded, upon reaching a small load to guarentee conpression on the spring a further small compressive travel was applied. From that point the measurements were zero'd and all springs measured over a compression of 20mm. The system calculated the load/ displacement to give lb/" (chosen as most manufactures use that) and also checked that the R^2 value for the line was such that the compression had been linear.

The AE black rear spring seems to have mis-measured but I'll remeasure that, most likely my fault when I positioned the spring in the fixturing.

There are also some slightly strange measurements but this could be due to all my Losi springs being very old and "well used". Again I will recheck those when I get back to work in the new year.

Ok, there are some missing from and if anybody has some they would be willing to lend me then I'm more than happy to measure them and put them on the chart!!!!!

Kyosho and Acadamey runners I would also like to measure your springs and add those.

You can never have too much info!!!

Brian .... thanks for posting that up, do you believe the Acadamy rates to be correct? Could you spare the Acadamy springs you have for me to measure???

That chart is what started this process as the Kyosho spring rates, certainly the fronts, are probably not correct!!!! For example the Kyosho silver feels a fair bit stiffer than a Losi silver in your hands.

There seems to be several different charts covering the Kyosho springs and all of them are different, especially for the fronts ..... which is annoying as they are shorter than most at 45mm which in turn makes getting ride height set properly a struggle on the RB5 in particular!

Kyosho springs measured so far..

Rears

#70 silver 2.300 lb/"
#65 yellow 2.085 lb/"

Fronts

#70 silver 3.917 lb/"
#65 yellow 3.878 lb/"
#55 red 3.475 lb/"

Will add them to the table and repost
