2wd sensored motor (the same old thread)

hey guys, sorry for this thread as i guess loads of people have done it before, but i need a brca legal sensored motor and esc. Not really sure on price, £150 or lower preferably, but if i need more then i can stretch. thanks for reading

If that were my budget I would have a look at the orca stuff. Never ran them but heard good things. As you are new to the hobby I would say go 10.5 but certainly not less than 8.5.

thanks, how competitive will a 10.5t motor be? some of the guys at my club are 6.5t and stuff like that. Althogh i have seen some guys doing better with a higher turn than lower

Doesn't matter how fast your car is if you keep crashing. Honestly slower can be faster over 5 mins. Consistency is key not raw speed. It will be easier to be consistent with a 10.5.

thanks again, do you know how many amps it should be? How much difference will there be between 60A and 100A

what about this http://www.modelsport.co.uk/fusion-e...products/34310 ? is there a reason its so cheap, and is it brca legal? I'll look on the list

Never used the fusion exceeds, although likewise considered one a while back - if you search on here, you'll find a couple of threads where ooplers are asking about them, seems like a small handfull do use them and find them to be good.

To be honest tho, of you're looking to spend that sort of money for a set up it's worth trawling the for sale section on here as you will more than likely find a better set up for that price - both my novak havocs with 10.5 ss pro motors came from fellow ooplers, 1st one for 75 quid and the second more recently for 57quid including postage.

If you have a gander in the what ooplers use car/electrics thread there's quite a few examples now of what people use in 2wd

thanks. If i do get the orca, how do i programme it? i know the fusion exceed has a program card, but i cant find one for the orca

mattJT 15-05-2011 08:40 PM

Looking on google it seems some orca's have programme cards.

Other than cards, it's the same as my havoc (and most other speedo's I think).....a series of flashing lights on the speedo itself that indicates what the setting is, there'll be just the one button (on the speedo) that controls everything

I've got one of these in my 1/10 buggy and it's served me well.
The programmable and read only options are also very good.
Unsure as to whether it's race legal though as i'm not interested in racing.

Any questions, just ask...
