Cougar SV servo?????

Took my new car out to the track yesterday for the first time and managed to destroy the servo by the end of the first lap........ I thought it was a pretty bullet proof servo that Id fitted - a metal geared KO Propo one. Anyone got any better recomendations or know of a servo saver that would fit within the chassis?!

Savox 1258/7 perfect fit and strong

simoncrabb 11-05-2011 08:52 PM

What model of KO was it? Some of them have a 'sacrificial' plastic gear in them...

Agree with Mikey, Savox 1258 is awesome for the money (and we have one in stock :woot:)

Most KO servos are good. May have been on its way out.

Change the gears and get a servo saver.

Jobs a good un.

I use the spektrum ones s6040 it's been in the car for a year now with no problems, think they are around £45-50 and they are titanium geared with no plastic gears.

Simon is right. The STD plastic bottom gears in the ko are a kind of weak link to protect the motor. Ko do a hybrid metal/nylon first gear you can replace it with. I've never stripped one of those.

Kartdemon > It was a brand spanking new servo.....only ever sat in my XXXNT2 which I ve never got round to finishing.

No idea which model it is as its still in the boot of the car in discust from yesterday will dig it out tommorrow and have a look and enquire about new gears

Simon > If I give you a call to pay for said servo would you be going to torch this sunday? There is the possibility I might get down this weekend if im not doing full sized race cars @ Brands Hatch

simoncrabb 12-05-2011 08:54 AM

Spektrum 6040 is pretty much the same as Savox 1258 - high speed.

Andyroooooooooooo you have pm.

Did this after breaking my all metal gear servo. Have not had an issue since and i think the spindles get extra protection running a servo saver :)

as said above by richd, KO servo's sometimes have 1 plastic gear, got a replacement from Demon products, was about £8 inc postage and had no more problems (KO 35524 hybrid)

It's not a 'Servo Saver' though is it??

got an old fashioned KO2123 in mine. Stripped the teeth on the schumacher servo horn, but no problems with the internal gears.

I use Hitecs 7775MG low profile servo. Very nice feeling compared to alot of other servos.
