Ansmann Sirius ESCs with LiPo ?
Question as per the title,
I have a Sirius SE and normal Sirius ESCs there is nothing in the docs about using them with LiPo batteries, anyone got any ideas? |
The esc ( Mtroniks viper iirc ) will work fine with LiPo but you'll need an external lvc/LiPo alarm.
Failing the aforementioned, just use it with the Lipo and run it while regularly checking the cells voltages. Don't run under about 3.3-3.5v per cell ( 7v for 2s Lipo ) and you're OK. |
The newer release of this range of ESC (Sirius) has a built in Li-po cut off. You can tell the difference by the colour of the sides. The new release has silver sides were as I believe the older one has green sides. Hope this helps.

Not saying you're wrong at all but where did you find this info'? |
Thanks for the replies... I will just have to be careful.. but I only run in 5 minute races, with charging in between so can't really see this is going to be a problem.
