Quick shock oil question
Just a quicky.......
Any reason why these would not be any good for my xxxcr? says its for the mini t........... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...RK:MESINDXX:IT Cheers matt |
I would just use AE or Losi Oil personally!!! AE isn't that expensive, and a bottle goes a long way, especially in an 1/18th scale car.

oops, looks like I misread the listing, thought they were losi - just seemed like a really good cheap way of getting a good few bottles of oils in - already have a load of ae ones, that got in a used job lot of the bay - but their all the higher ratings. Would there really be that much difference between a cheaper brand? |
Matt,
Just stick to Losi oils, strangely branded oils work best with the same brand of shocks, if that makes sense? Most Losi drivers would use Losi oils and most Associated drivers would use Associated oils, there was always some suspicion that each oil reacts differently with related and unrelated seals! Also there's TWO weights of oils in this pack that you're very unlikely to use in this country, can't ever remember using 20 and 25wt and there was talk that Trinity weights of oils were slightly different to comparable weights of other manufacturers, though there is always some difference between brands. |

I agree, pick a popular brand (losi or associated) I use Losi, and buy a couple of bottles, then add to them as and when you need to.
It's hard to copy someone else's set up if your using a different oil the everyone else. |

Matt,
Ordinarily 35, 32.5, 30 and 27.5wt Losi oils would cover most of your normal requirements! |

All four would cover pretty much all conditions, wet or dry or anywhere in between!

Did you notice that each of these bottles is 0.5 oz. while most shock oils come in 2 oz. bottles? |
