Is this for a real car? If so i got a quote for mine around £200-250 if I can remember. Personally I think if its too dark it makes the car look to much like a van, unless you do the fronts, but then the bib dont like it to much.

Had it done on two cars, and really depends who you go with, the first I had limo black on a small van, it was to dark and it lifted, plus little air bubbles. The second was on a Jetta, Limo Black on the back screen (cut into four strips and matched up) and a tint called Titanium on the sides, this was done really well and did look asthetically pleasing.

we have a guy does em at our works, he never has to cut the rear screen to make it all fit round curves, clever how he does it

he does the rear three glasses for about £150 most good guys are good at it, the front sides you will struggle to get a repitable guy to do em and most manufactures factory tint in near the max legal tint

Was a good few years ago Mark.... maybe 14, lol, they now heatshrink the film to the curve of the rear screen.

Agree about the front windows, although, if your going for security, you can have a very VERY light tint, or even clear.

dont wont it to dark just dont like the idea of 500 quid for ford to do it factory fit, i know they use propper glass and not tints, but wow 500quid,just sides and rear screen in a darker shade,

I would go with the factory option if I was you Carl. You might get some bloke to do it for £200 and bollocks it up then you've paid £200 for nowt plus the factory option is a true tint instead of some cheap arse film stuck on by some turd!!

Get some ray bans it will be cheaper.

you know i work for ford and if you want it right the factory is the best option, what car u getting?

The Chef 05-05-2011 08:59 PM

We get lots of cars done at work including our own. The company is called secur-fix. They are in hook hampshire. It is around £250 for a Passat to give you an idea. The Job Is perfect in every way. Alot of the cars that we build are for magazine features and have to be top notch.

bigred5765 05-05-2011 09:54 PM

ill ask them see if they can recomend someone,ti has electronic folding i asked,he was going to look into it see if the ti privacy pack had something different,it as 2-3 things in there ti spec already has

pro4nut 06-05-2011 10:02 AM

Why not just ask for the pack for less money or for free?
If they don't give it then find a dealer that will

A lot of those packs give a better profit to the dealer and/or get used as deal closers.
Ford are quite easy to deal with, large dealer network and plenty of chance to go to a differant franchise and get a better deal.
