GTB

Well I put a 5.5r in my X10 (God help me, and God help my drivetrain). The thing is a missile now.

Problem being I don't seem to have room for the fan on top of the esc. I'm now of course worried about overheating. I don't have the money for a TCS.

Anyone else have a GTB in their Pred, and if so, what did you do for cooling/how did you mount your esc (pics are always appreciated)?

Thanks guys
Chris

hi there yes u can fit a fan on top what u have to do is build a platform so it fits from ur servo over ur centre shaft and then fit the esc in the centre
do u hold the shell on by clips or velcro as it will sit a fraction higher if u use velcro hope that helps cheers:)

Hmm. Unfortunately that's what I've already done, but I've got a different result, one where the fan hits the top of the shell. I guess I'll have to keep shuffling things around, and try the velcro bit.

You can also see G's taken the screws out of one side and slid the fan across some

footey 22-12-2007 10:59 AM

also use b4 servo posts that helps

if you have a low profile servo :)

showtime 22-12-2007 02:08 PM

what servo is that?

something like a futaba 9650? :)

turbo_brick 22-12-2007 04:26 PM

To fit mine i had to remove the 4 black spacers between the fan and the heatsink.

footey 22-12-2007 04:37 PM

o yes good point forgot to say that:)

HVAC25000 22-12-2007 07:39 PM

Thanks for the info guys.

Unfortunately I don't have a low profile servo, and don't have the money for one of those either, unless you know of one that isn't the usual $70+.

I hadn't noticed the fan had been slid over, and of course I hadn't thought of that. So between removing the washers and sliding the fan over I should certainly be able to make mine fit.

Thanks again guys!

how can this help? In what way are the B4-posts different?

showtime 23-12-2007 12:48 AM

they move the servo back closer into the centre of the chassis ;)
