mad monkey set up
hello
i have just got a mad monkey and had a quick practice with it on sunday on astro and im very impressed with it, does anyone have any set up tips they could share with me and also are any of you putting weight in it? if so how much and where? cheers |
I cannot comment on set up as vie yet to race mine outdoors
Weight wise..... I have some sat behind the servo (using a low profile savox) and some low profile weights in the centre section under the lipo ;) |
how much weight under the lipo? as when i tried mine it was front heavy going over jumps
where do you get low profile weights from? |
I have no weight in the middle of my car and about 70 grams underneath my servo and I haven't noticed my x2c nose diving
I would say that it might be your shocks are too soft at the back and the rear is slapping the jumps on takeoff causing it to flick the back end up. I believe battleaxe on this forum does the weight kit for the x2c but he did mumble about doing one for the monkey chassis to as the x2c one obviously won't fit. |
cheers robbie, i have just sent him a pm, will let you all know how i get on with getting some

Weight wise for the m/m.
I've got 50g under servo, 70g under the speedo,50g in the center part of lipo slot and 35g of flat lead on the back end using the top hex bolts for the shock tower to hold in position. The car ready to go weighs 1814 seems to many heavy but is well planted good traction. The car has been balanced for equal weight left side and right side. F/rweight is 1130 over the rear wheels and 684 over the front wheels. So has a weight ratio of 62% rear 38%front. Good and level over jumps. Tryed all kind of weight options this one seems to be best for good turn in and good traction. |
i got a pm back from battleaxe, he said he sholud have some weights for under servo and lipo on wednesday next week

I have around 70g's under the lipo you could try eBay for the LP weights such as these ones ;) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...#ht_2817wt_794:thumbsup: |
