Jamie.T 26-04-2011 07:37 PM

Id consider going if there's astro down, but if its still like the surface of the moon then ill be spending my day practicing locally for Rd 3.

Same here, if it is like last year, I will save my time and money.

JT..... Swansea is suppose to be shut for every WRCA round matey... if I remember rightly.

Jamie.T 26-04-2011 07:52 PM

No-where in the WRCA rules does it say that the club must shut, but i guess in the spirit of the sport, its suggested that no club organizes a race day.

I was planning on just some open practice at Swansea or Taly.

This thread was started to guage interest in round two of the wrca event, please have common courtesy to start another thread regarding anything else:thumbsup:

Could someone from gnr clarify what surface/layout the club intend running for the 2nd round.

hywel 26-04-2011 08:39 PM

Gentleman before you go any further with this thread , After a discussion with Paul Knight earlier this evening there is a strong possiblity that the event will be postponed I will update you once i have confirmation H:(:(:(:(

Pops 27-04-2011 01:20 PM

Just my penneth worth....How about we ALL give dear mr knight a hand with the new track/astro which he will probably build and lay with only help from a couple of members!
Last year rated as one of the best wrca rounds without question and the track issue was only due to lack of support and labour(even after we spent every sunday for months working on it)
Paul works himself half to death trying to maintain gnr and with support from the racers it can and will be an awesome venue.

Do we have too many clubs then?? I think not!

Just my views, no bitchyness intended:p

Dave gooding 2wd
Owen gooding aka ginger ninger/ginger beaber! 2wd
Richard greenhaf 2wd

See you up there steve:D

Your welcome, Dave knows I will go, but only if the track has been improved over last year, we all know tracks don't fix themselves and it is up to the club to put the time and effort in, not just one or two committed individuals, I do hope it gets done though.

BRCA rules apply here Jamie. Somewhere it states clubs not running s club eventthat clashes with a national or a regional.

I'm hoping to make it there this year :)

b4rac3r 27-04-2011 08:42 PM

I'll be there again this year

Snake's in:thumbsup:

dorris 28-04-2011 01:08 PM

Nothing in the WRCA rules saying clubs can't run on the same day as a WRCA event. The restriction is that a club MAY NOT hold a club championship round that clashes.

Pops 28-04-2011 06:29 PM

Im going to organise a party in the golf park then with free beer and sluts for the next round of the wrca:lol: If i aint there il prob be racing somewhere;)

Dyna 28-04-2011 08:40 PM

I was hoping to do this round work permitting... rough track problems apart it was good fun :)

Be good to know if its on or not ASAP though.... :bored:

Hi all, after a number of shity comments about the clubs WRCA round last year, i decided that we won't be holding another round until i am satisfied that i have things to a standard i am happy with.

Posts on forums with the people making public on what they are going to do along with their negative comments is a perfect example.

I am now at a point where i don't care about peoples opinions of the club and we are revamping it for the benefit of the club patrons.

If in the future, people enjoy driving there then all well and good. If they don't, then don't come back and keep your negativity to yourself.

We now have permenant planning permission. With astro on site we have plans to resurface the whole track and sort out the site and toilet facilities, but is is going to take a long time which myself and the small number of club members will do at our leisure.
Our sundays there are for fun/practice and to bring on new drivers and this is our priority for now. If we are ready for a WRCA event by the end of the season i will notify the WRCA chairman and it will be up to them if we can be fitted in.

As for all the other WRCA rounds this year, i will be attending them and take the good with the bad. Not everything was great last year, but i enjoyed every event.
Roll on Saundersfoot:thumbsup:
