sensored motor

hey, just wanted to ask has anyone used this motor? http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=11059 and how good is it? Or would i be better off going for somrthing more expensive but better.
thanks for reading

That doesn't look that cheap to me and as it's not on the list (as far as I can see) you couldn't use it anywhere running to BRCA / EFRA rules.

There are several of options for budget / mid priced brushless motors from the big players at the moment with more to come shortly (belive Orion are doing a sportsman type motor soon???). Have a look around some of the UK shops websites and you will find them (JE Spares carry a good range). It is much more likely that a motor on general sale in the UK will go on to the list (motor list is revised through the year I believe, just the cell list that is an annual thin) than something like that in you link.

If your after something that is a good "club" motor then have a look at the HobbyWing link in my sig ... some great motors at very keen prices (again I believe they missed the list in Jan by a few days but have been submitted for the next revision).

thanks, where is the list for brca legal motors?

RogerM 18-04-2011 06:52 PM

http://www.brca.org/?q=content/homol...1-updates/1402

all homologated products are on these lists .... cells are added in Jan, motors a few times a year I think.

Hope that helps.

thanks, is this http://www.modelsport.co.uk/speed-pa...products/36286 brca legal? If it is what esc should i be using with it?

RogerM 19-04-2011 04:09 PM

I'm not sure, check the list (I'm not near a proper PC so can't load the list at the moment). I believe they are but not 100%.

As for ESC if your on a budget then definitely the HobbyWing 120A V2.1 ... £100 and will happily run a 5.5 in 4wd with plenty to spare if you ever want that sort of grunt in the future. Silky smooth too (basically Speed Passion GT2.0 Pro but from the original manufacture).
