Chinese GP / Hamilton's Pit Stop

Genuine Gaff or Disguised Team Tatics?

stop in the wrong pits to hold up Vettel's stop and to give Button a better chance of the win as the McLaren's are not as quick as the Red Bulls

looks like a new stratergy to win the race for Hamilton :woot:

If it was more than a genuine mistake (which shouldn't happen) then that's disgraceful.

Glenn, you need to take a lot of time off and gather your senses!! This is what happens when you get old and don't take enough time to sleep and think... ;)

Conspiracy theory? Do me a favour. If it was, what a cock-up!! It lost Button track position, and made him look like a chimp, not a champ!! But it is nice to know that anyone can make a mistake when their mind isn't on the job in hand. :woot:

Peter, I have a good teacher in 'tellan' ;)

I did laugh out loud when I saw Button and Vettel heading to the same pit box!

I think Webber drove well, especially as he was still 17th after 15 laps or whatever it was, it looked like he was going to really struggle!

Hamilton was the man of the day for me though, fantastic over-taking, exciting as ever to watch and seemed to be so determined! Nice to see Mclaren get the call right on Tyres for once too, it usually seems to go against Lewis so great to see it go in his favour.

Also thought Schumacher drove a great race, just shows when the car is competitive he can still mix it up with the best of them (Alonso struggled for ages to pass him)!

Great race over all though, non stop excitement! Pirelli have absolutely nailed it with the tyres this year, i'm sure there will be races when it doesn't work so well but they've done exactly what was asked of them!

I think Monaco will be an interesting race with these tyres. Someone 3 seconds a lap faster catching up and trying to get past. Looking forward to that one as you have much more chance to defend than at somewhere like Monza.

Anyone who thinks overtaking at Monaco isn't possible didn't watch Schumacher in 2006. He finished 5th from last on the grid after being naughty in qualifying.

It's possible, but only for a great driver with a car advantage. So expect some fun with this years Pirellis :woot:

The amount of marbles those tyres put out on the track will make overtaking interesting. The racing line round Monaco is going to be even narrower than usual. I think Dc said they take 2-3 corners to shake off if they get picked up.

I really enjoyed this reac despite watching it on a small hotel tv. :(

I think Hamilton deserved to win. All his passes bar one were made outside of the flappy wing zone. Pure class! Who needs moveable rear wings to overtake!

Button.....well, what more can you say....nonce! That guy needs to really show some fighting spirit in a difficult car to earn my respect.

SlowOne 22-04-2011 08:54 PM

In 50 years, over 450 people have been into space. In 60 years, less than 110 people have won a GP, and less than 30 have won the World Championship. Button already has my respect, as he has done something more difficult than anything else in technology or sport, of which he needs both to win. :p

What planet are you from?
Remember Jenson in Honda's last season, worst car in the field and never gave up......
