I've taken the plunge.

I've decided to have a dabble at 1/10 off road and invested the huge sum of £50 on a new mad rat kit.

So to all you mad ratters...
Any build tips n tricks for a newbie to 1/10 off road (but not to rc).
(I have ordered a bearing kit, will be pre stressing the slipper spring and will not be replacing the kit shocks yet.)

Anything else?

hi

whilst you are building it, i would pre tap the holes as the kit screws are not the best and will round off and you dont get that many spare, its very frustrating

As above really pre tap the holes also put some ptfe tape on the thread on the shock tops then they won't pop off

If you are planning on racing it get some spare hinge pin blocks and a rear chassis brace. The kit items on mine broke on a jump landing (not a crash) but the spare items seem to be made of better material than the ones you get in the kit.
