Ezrun 5.5t 60a advice

I have a ezrun 5.5t 60a setup in my car and have just put a 11.1v 30c 80a lipo in the car, goes great but the esc is getting to hot and going into protection think I need a different speedy any suggestions?

Warrior!

That speedo will probably struggle with 11v, it's more suited to a 7.4v pack.

What sort of car is it installed in?

How long does it last before it gets too hot?

Its in a tamiya rising storm built to this spec for a laugh last about 8mins I would say before it gets too hot I have now cut a hole in the body over the fan of the esc but thats untested as I have just lost a diveshaft.

a 5.5t is really pushing the 60a speedo, it's better suited to the 120a version. edit - i may be thinking of the Xerun! But i imagine the same applies to the EZrun

It may be ok for short stints and just about the 5 minute race lengths, but bashing it non stop until the battery drains is going to hammer the speedo.

60a ez run speedo isnt designed to run on 3s lipo!! 2s only! If you do want the 3s youll need the 120a ezrun speedo

yes 60a ezrun is 2 cell lipo only!!

ExRun 120a (V2.1) is one of the best ESCs out there and can be had for about £100 ... absolute bargin!!!!

mdb_75 13-04-2011 05:48 PM

I thought the 120a was only available as an Xerun, not an ezrun?

Sorry my bad, your right. I keep forgetting about the EzRun being sensorless ones.

I stand by my original (now corrected statement) that the ExRun V2.1 120A is one of the best speedos available and at £100 an absolute bargin!

Your still overloading the speedo by quite a lot. It only recommends 13t for 3cell lipo off road. It may be ok for a while but sooner or later your going to see the grey smoke. Get yourself a 2cell lipo battery before it costs you a new speedo.
