Servo Advice needed

Hi All
Im currently looking at whats the best servo for my 22
Been out of 1\10th offroad for a while so a few pointers would be much appreciated
Firstly ive been looking at ascociated xp,KO,and savox all metal geared ,which one would you go for?
secondly are these servos strong enough to work without a servo saver as there wasnt one with the kit, i presume nobody runs them any more
thanks in advance
Rick

savox 1258 is fast and strong, all metal geared, works with out servo saver. very good.

also the 1267 i think is the new version with more torque but not quite as fast.

Savox 1251 low profile can't fault it also frees up a nice bit of room up front if ya need it

If going for a 22 you Wana get low profile to make life easier I also run savox without any probs :)

I've got a KO PDS 2413 in mine. Bit flash, but sooo Nice :D

Other than that i would recommend Savox. The 1258 or the Low Profile one.

I know its not on your list but the new Orion servo line up is killer and their LPF servo is stronger then Savox's

Orion are very nice (tried a 1007) but I prefer the 2413, it didn't need as
much power as the 1007 so no cap on the receiver.

But it's a bit too fast so may need some expo. Found that it stay precisely where you put it whereas the Orion waves a bit.

has anyone noticed the problem were on the savox, the servo link hits the servo horn at full lock, its nothing to do with shimming because that would make it worse,iv just thought it might be because the link is to short,i will lengthen it and see what happens,

Dombrasky 07-04-2011 11:32 AM

Thnx so far for some great advice,I was thinking the savox 1258 myself as fast torquey, strong ,widely available and a good price
So does nobody run servo savers?
If you crash can these servos take it?........£20 odd quid for a gearset i was hoping they do

Don't bother, I have the same servo,I tried that but you need to swap for a smaller ball/cup (I believe Schey ones work), or my solution, dremel the ballcup until it clears the servo by a squillimetre!! Works fine.

I run a full size Savox SC-1258 that I purchased about a year ago... never put a foot wrong and still feels as smooth as the day it was bought!

I run no shims on the servo mounts and I've had no issues with servo horns or ball cups hitting any part of the car! No dremmel needed for my 22 :woot:

Works perfectly

with the savox low profile i had to use schumacher ball cups,

iv not had any problems with it hitting any part of the car,its not the ball cup part, its the shaft of it hitting the servo horn at full lock, undoing it half a turn will mean i dont need to turn the servo so far to get the same throw,
