Sticking it all down!

What does everyone use to secure receivers and ESCs?

Plus is the Lipo tray for the B44 an essential?

Cheers,

Mark

I use double sided number plate tape from B&Q. Once it's stuck its not coming off in a hurry!

I use the brass lipo tray in my B44 to hold them still and to add some weight.

Awesome idea whiskers.

Where did you get the brass lipo tray?

Whiskers 05-04-2011 07:26 PM

I'm nit sure it was with the car when I bought it. I think it is the Rudebits one.

Whiskers 05-04-2011 07:28 PM

Oh and the tape is green just to make it easier for you to find. It takes around 24 hours to fully stick.

Any tape I use is from a company called Tesa

http://www.tesa.co.uk/

They supply all sorts of industries, I think they sell through ebay too. If you call them and ask nicely they'll send samples out, I'm not sure they're familiar with RC so it might be best to just say you need a strong double sided tape or a DS foam tape.

I think but I'm not sure that they sell through ebay too. Great tape ! Highly recommended !

Carpet tape works on clean, flat surfaces.

I use some losi servo tape that i got from dms i think. Good stuff. On thr lipo tray, i dont use one but uou have to make sure the straps are nice and tight and always run with the undertray. If you do get one, get a brass one from rudebits as it will mean you dont need to mess about adding extra weight to the car which you will still need to do if you go for the ae carbon one.

I use these. They stick like Sh@t to a blanket. Just wipe both services off with thinners or the wife's nail varnish remover. Then it's not going any where. :thumbsup:

Cheers for the suggestion guys.

With the Lipo tray I have the B44 so I don't fancy the idea of drilling two holes in the chassis to screw the centre section down.

What is the best thing for removed the slack to get the cells in nice and snug? I have looked at the posts for the battery cells and I am not sure if they can be adjusted height wise?

mattybucks 06-04-2011 07:51 AM

A piece of foam on the underside of the battery bars.

Are you sure there's not already some holes in the chassis for the lipo tray to be mounted on?

You dont need to - you are looking at the combined b44.1 tray and weight product and its the weight that you need to drill for. If you scroll down the Accoc section on Rudebits site you will see the b44 tray only.

My cells "fit" with no slack - Vampire saddles

Maplin sell a great roll of double sided 'servo' tape that works great.

For the B44 lipo tray/weights you could try this

no connection with me, well apart from it being mine!

RoyalCBR 06-04-2011 04:30 PM

@mattybucks
No holes in the centre of mine that is for sure.

@Jnunu1
The Vampire saddles must be taller than my MuchMore LiFe packs, hence the extra padding

@peetbee
PM on its way :)

Cheers guys:)

I mentioned to the misses that I needed some double sided foam tape and she came home from work the next day with 3 rolls of pound shop special.

It got used to keep the peace ( thats the last time I try and help with your toy cars rah rah rah) and it is fantastic stuff:thumbsup:
