ZX S EVOLUTION

Hi All,

I'm a huge fan of the Kyosho's Lazer series.

A couple years ago I put my hands on a new built ZX S evo (see pictures).

The manual describes Kyosho Twin cap pro to be mounted on the car but 4 Losi shocks were already mounted.
The seller told me that the Losies came in the package.

Do you have any clues for me ?

Thanks a lot

Had one of those before "Evolution" and it came with Losi shocks from Kyosho.

Wrong section guys  !!!

For the "old" Lazer series ( Zx, Zx-r, Zx-rr, Zx-sport and Zx-s) the right section is the vintage one and the right thread is the following :

You may find a lot of things regarding your cars .

However I can confirm that the first Zx-s came with losi shocks and yokomo wheel adapter; if you want the manual, just PM me your email address ;) .

Bye

Yup as Ema said, ZXS came with losi shocks (they looked a bit older than the ones on your car in the pictre), yokomo wheels and adaptors and also a one piece chassis (not on the car in your picture) that had the kick up on as well in Carbon fibre. Also came with ZXR rear hubs, ZXR front hubs and Uj's.

ZXS Evo came with a three piece chassis, different front and rear hubs (the ZX-5 Hubs front and rear were designed originally for this car) and shocks that were also developed for the ZXS and used on the Team version ZX-5.

Great car, best chassis design was the ZXS, as the car handles better than the Evo.

More pics on the ZXR vintage section.

You guys are a tremendous source of informations...

So the chassis pictured should be a ZX S Evo and the shocks should be Kyoshos Twin Cap Pro instead of those Losies ?
Or the Evo came with Losi first then Kyosho depending of the time period ?
Just to get it right..

Thanks !

Oops I forgot the ZXS also had the steering and steering plate from the Lazer ZX.

Yes the Kyosho Twin Cap Pro shocks were developed for the Lazer ZX-S Evo and yes they would be better suited for the chassis that you have. The Losis shocks only came with the ZXS.

I know that some drivers did prefer using the Losis shocks on it however but then again some prefered the Kyosho ones as well. Down to preference really.

I race mine still but I would advise strongly against it for you as the shock tower mount breaks when you roll, the front gearbox sections (all four side pieces) have been milled out by Kyosho and due to this are brittle and crack so the kick up plate then bends. I have developed it more at a cost to stop these breakages but unfortunately the spares are non existant so best to keep yours a shelf queen.

If any problems just PM me.

I do think that the zxs-evo and its predecessors is the pinnacle of rc-cars and look more like race machine than recent cars like b-max and others. I wish that kyosho would build another beltcar.:):wub

Well the reason this wasnt built was due to the cost as when 200 evos were sold they were close to £500 each so explains why. Still if you have them why not carry on racing them. Yes the kit works well on clay tracks like Yatabe arena and did win the japanese nats in front of Masami and his YZ10 but it doesnt like high grip so ive had to redesign the chassis, gearbox bottom mount sections on the rear and redesign the front gearbox casings as the original are brittle and redesign the rear shock tower mount a one roll the original breaks. However the drive train can easily handle a 4.5 without damage to the belts and is possibly the best belt layout ive seen to date.
