Adam F 28-03-2011 12:01 PM

Matt, closed with immediate effect? (i.e. no offroad tomorrow?)

Shame as the last round is this Saturday...

mk2kompressor 28-03-2011 12:37 PM

yup no tuesday, sat is a go no problem:thumbsup:

the builders will be swinging big metal frames around so will be too dangerous to run anything this week

Dunno, that could be fun for off roading :p

ps what time are doors opening this sunday for the BTCC?

mk2kompressor 28-03-2011 01:51 PM

doors are open at 7am usually but check on CB for exact times.

i also forgot to mention (you reminded me :) ) the new mezz extension will have an added part to the rostrum for disabled access:thumbsup:

mattybucks 28-03-2011 02:23 PM

What am I going to do tomorrow evening now . These new simulators better be worth it!

Thinking about, what time will it get dark tomorrow night? Can you get the amb installed on the drit track outside??

Adam F 28-03-2011 03:03 PM

dirty track.... :D

Very disappointing that this couldn't have been mentioned last week when everyone was there. I'm imagining that this has been planned for some time so the Moto Arena must have known it was going to happen this week.

It's also disappointing for Silverstone club as this Tuesday would obviously have a good attendance with people practicing for the last round of the series on Saturday.

Another case of Moto Arena needing to get it's act together

Personally, I can't see the point in extending the flooring upstairs to accomodate even more simulators, especially as the first ones were a waste of electricity. The guy in charge of them first time around was, apparently, the best in the business and to be fair I thought he'd had a personality bypass. It took 5 weeks of asking for him to tell me how much it cost for a go

Moto Arena, talk to the Silverstone club and inform them of what's happening BEFORE the event

mk2kompressor 28-03-2011 04:24 PM

Alec, we knew it was going to happen but didnt know when the trigger was getting pulled, it was going to be done early feb originally but changes to the design put it back.
ill let you all know if there is any change

Battle_axe 28-03-2011 04:50 PM

Great to see the moto arena management once again not having a clue this is poor really considering there would have been allot of people ready to turn up as practice for the up coming sat meeting

Silverstone members down to the Astro track? Not a member yet? all I have to say is sort it out!

Paul any chance of dusting the Astro off?

Stcc-building work-kyosho-btcc,

moto arena - looks like you picked a cracking week to build the extension....

no Silverstone club night days before the final round of a great series

No practice for the BTCC touring cars on Saturday due to the off road series

Potentially no Saturday/Sunday racing if the building work gets delayed or goes pear shapped

not having a go at you Matt, you're only passing the messages on.....hopefully

mk2kompressor 29-03-2011 07:05 AM

All I can say is sorry guys, it was out of our hands when it was going to get started :(

The weekend will happen with no hiccups, btcc practice will be sat pm, as the prizes are given for the winter series we will be prepping the track for the onroad boys.

If there is any scope for opening later in the week (still not sure on how much mess during the day) we will

Adam F 04-04-2011 09:20 AM

Are we racing tomorrow night?

Adam F 07-05-2011 03:01 PM

Didnt think there was any racing planned this week anyway?

DomSmith 08-05-2011 08:05 AM

A couple of us drove up yesterday morning for a practice to find it was closed. It would be handy if there was some sort of notice on their website. We checked on the web before making the trip and it said that a slot car thing was on so we assumed the track was open.

I'd say always ring first, the website is usually out of date.

Closed again today (Sunday) the idea of a website is to promote the business and inform the public of issues like NOT BEING open, i don’t need call Tesco's to check they are open before i go this needs sorting.
