Racing breakages on the 22

After the first bit of racing with the 22 which parts if any seem to get broken, might be handy if we compile a bit of a list for spares.

Ive seen idler gears and the diff go (not sure on the quality of diff grease in the kit), other than that nothing else

I don't think the wing will last very long ....

Chris56 25-03-2011 01:36 PM

I've had mine over a week now and haven't broken anything. Possibly because I haven't run it yet:D

hahah! thats a classic reply!!

On a serious note. I think the wing may break, The shape of the back will make it brittle i think. Alothough i have a spare B4 wing that fits perfectly so i may run that.

id be careful on the track, might break the hearts of other racers.....

Was this due to incorrect build, slipper too tight ?

I think it was due to dodgy moulding on the gear, looked like it had a fracture in it, but hard to say if it was caused by gears going or was here from new

Gave mine a pretty hard time at Ardent, and nothing broke. :)

1st run last night - clipped a track marker at end of main straight, kart-wheeled at 40+ mph into a brick wall :woot::woot:
EVERYTHING STAYED IN 1 PIECE!!!, but left a nasty mark on wall:blush::blush:

I did have a couple of diff issues but have now sorted it (replaced diff nut with a Tamiya one).

These cars are awesome :thumbsup::thumbsup:

If its an m2 nut then it should. I used the one out of an M-chassis - the nut has a thicker bead of nylock on it and it sits deeper in the holder, allowing the screw to get a better bit of it.

cr1tch 26-03-2011 09:51 PM

let me start the ball rolling then

 Firstly my car is made up rear motor, i put diff on wrong side screw head (spur gear side) so diff came loose and needed a complete rebuild. (also put new ceramic diff balls in as i was rebuilding) also so kid rammed my car which was over turned at end of main striaght, and bent the lay shaft:mad: other than that. strong car took a beating at layland club ohh yeah forgot to say front wheel came off due to loose wheet nut/screw.....

Isn't that the correct side? i've been told (and have always run) it with the screw on the right (when looking from behind).

Mine came loose because I had stripped some of the nylock from the nut, and then completely stripped it when I went to tighten it up again.
