Z4Pro trouble

X4Pro sorry wrong title on the thread

just finished building my x4pro kit.
now to my problem, when hitting the throttle the rear wheels dont spin properly, seems very very poor, they dont spin until full throttle and is weak. any ideas?

Sounds like the rear diff could be very loose or the drive shafts are binding. Do you have wheels on the car?

neo123 24-03-2011 04:31 PM

the diff is tight, tried to loosen it up, but still the same so i tightened it again, and yes, wheels are on. how do you mean by the driveshafts binding?

They might get to a certain point and then "stick" this is binding. It can be caused if the wheels are on too tight as that crushes the bearings and causes them to bind.

How tight is the slipper?

neo123 24-03-2011 04:42 PM

3,5mm
like the manual said. but maybe loosen it a little?

Whiskers 24-03-2011 04:45 PM

It sound like it is too loose if the wheels aren't getting full drive

neo123 24-03-2011 04:46 PM

ok, then i will try to tighten it a bit. thx alot for your help. :)

ok, i think i found the real problem here. the centre diffhouse isnt 100% straight. so therefore the backside outdrive on the slipper isnt tight enough, i used a knife to press down the outdrive and then it worked fine, so that problem is solved, now over to the next.

Glad you got it sorted

Make sure you use some decent threadlock on the screws that hold the outdrives in as they can come loose.
