Gear Diff in B4.1

Just got a B4.1 and I noticed they offer a gear diff. I come from boring cars and we've all gone to gear diffs because of the consistant action and the time between rebuilds. Do people run gear diffs in buggies and if not why not.

Thanks.

Whats the part number?

On the previous B4, the gear diff change was from the SC10 and involved changing several other parts - as the gearbox case was wider etc. But now if it it a straight fit option, I'd give it a try certainly.

Assume this is the item from the RTR version?

Yep,

Same as the RTR diff.

Sounds like something to try then. Anyone already running one want to make a suggestion on weight. In the TC6 we ran 50 over the winter but will thicken that up at the weather gets better.

Be interested in hearing if the team has done any testing?

I was running 3k in mine when I tried it over the winter.

Mick, thanks for your advice, you think its an advantage over a ball diff then?

I think I'm going to get one to try. Last time I tried off road we had 25c lipos, no timing advance speedos and I was lucky to keep a good diff for 1 full meeting before it started to feel gritty.

Now with the 40,50 and 60c lipos, turbo speedos I think the life of a diff might be reduced even more so probably a good investment.

In certain situation it is better than the balls diff.

We were running on a tight & quick carpet track over the winter. The gear diff was good. Didn't loose drive when the inside wheel lifted.

Not sure about outdoors, haven't tried it enough.
