input shaft movement?
 

im rebuilding the gearbox for the 2nd time and the rear box the input shaft has what id say excessive play in it, in the rango build thread ive tried all the methods of correct setup and cant seem to reduce the play, I believe this could be whats causing the gearbox to keep stripping crowns. gearbox case seems ok all clips together well and the shims are all in the right places.

I noticed this on mine last night lol.

It sounds a little noisier than normal too...

same on mine.......i can't reduce the play on the rear imput shaft (front works well)......i've also changed the gearbox with no success......the only thing that seems to work is a little piece of tape under the bearings....

i thnik ive cracked my gearbox issues :thumbsup: £30 and lots of diff parts later!

built them both again, shimmed them perfectly, and rebuilt alot less play in them now, i will keep an eye on these and see how it holds out now i can turn my x12 up a bit
