Bluebird servo's
 

Has anyone had any experience with Bluebird servos especially BMS 620MG ? And also does anyone know what servo horns fit this brand ?

hi bud ive not got that servo but i have the bms 706mg low profile servo

same spec but low profile and cheaper havent used it that much but works fine for me the gears are abit noisy though but for the money you cant go wrong.

they are 25 spline same as futaba

Thanks. I did assume that they were cheaper for a reason ;) but if they do the job and are half the price of the 'major' brands, Bluebird it is !

They were all the rage a year or 2 ago with most speaking highly of them. This year is the turn of Savox. No doubt next year it'll be someone else I've never heard of!

(I've run the same KO 2123 for 5 years now!)

the reason there half the price is there s..t I bought one and I died in before I could race it and have heard a few people having the same problem. savox are fantastic got two in my lazers and there fast and reliable

Thanks for all replys. Savox do seem to have a good market share at the moment and from what i hear and see great reliability and price.

I cannot knock KO as this is my servo of choice, a fit and forget solution but pricey. Futaba / Savox second. Funny though I wont use anything else but a Futaba Transmitter !

savox are also s**t ive heard loads upon loads of people complaining there very noisy and them die'in,i had a sc1251mg which never centred properly tryed other servos and they were fine so wasnt my radio,its all about 1 person has a bad 1 complains about it then everyone hates them, it the same for any servo though if you treat it right and use it for what its designed for it should be fine.

+ you get a warranty so if you do try 1 and it does fail your covered

In my experience Savox servo's have been fantastic servos and good value for money :thumbsup:
Ive had no problems with them in my X6^2 or Bmax and weve probably sold thousands of them at work with very minimal returns.

savox are the best servos out there no contest

I have tried bluebird and they are ok for bashers but not for racing. We got a load at our club as they are quick and cheap, and within a few months they were mostly all dead.

With the 3 Savox servos I've had only one still works. Both stopped returning to the centre. One is still fine though.

In contrast I have Ko servos that are nearly 10 years old and they are still perfect, so its my preferred brand for my race cars and I will also have good futaba ones.

the thing is you need abit of money behind you to run good equipment and be prepared for if anything goes wrong,if you havent then the bluebird servos are a good choice just keep your receipt for the warranty just incase.

the thing is everyone thinks your millionaires (not saying your not by the way) and recomend the top top gear when some1 may only have 20-30quid to spend on something!

Agreed, 2nd hand Ko's are only around the £30ish price range. I have had a fair few 2nd hand and all have been fine.

Ko have also got a cheaper series of servos out now apparently.

When I first setup the shop about 5 years ago next week. Bluebird we're the first lot of servos I had in. Half of them came back with in a week or two, so in the end I sent them all back.

Personally, I've used nothing but a KO for the past 15 years, and the only reason I changed a year or so ago (to another KO), is that my first KO got absolutely drowned one day (it was a very wet day).

My advice would be to go with what you know. Yes KO are expensive, but you do get what you pay for.

I bought 4 BMS 631 MG Bluebird servos for £76 delivered. I have it in my TT01 racer, B44, B4 and one will go in my TLR22. The only problem i had was when i tried it in my B4 it didn't return to centre, i'm using a Futaba 3GR-FS on 40mhz. The receiver i had in at the time was a Hitec HFS 03 MT. When i put the Futaba R153f back in it seemed spot on. I also have two Savox 0252 MG servos in my Hyper 7, and they're spot on too.

I have the bluebird 631mg in mine too and have had no problems with it.

I've been running a BMS-661DMG (full size) for a while and it's been sweet.
However I tried a low profile one and the motor burnt out pretty quickly. They're a tiny brushed motor and the brushes are just thin strips of metal.. I bought a bunch of motors off ebay for $1 each and they're not hard to replace, except that I had to make a pinion puller for it.
