I have a 80w soldering iron with a smallish tip if you want to use that reg

Reg, have you got to unsolder the wires at the speedo?

I usually cut the wires back to about 2" then solder onto the ends, It saves having to put the heat too close to the speedo.
I have some lengths of yellow, orange and blue if you need any.
