Correct antenna length (ko 302 reciever)
 
hi,

i need to know the exact length of the antenna on a Ko 302 40 meg reciever, measurement from outside of case or to the circuit board is fine.

hope someone can help

Hi,

Did all this when studying electronics years ago.

A full wave at 40Mhz = 7.5M. If you divide this by 4 you'll have a quarter wave antenna that'd be perfect, but that's far too big at 1.8m.

Just use any piece of wire as long as you possibly can without it looking silly. It will be absolutely fine.

Make sure you test first, I did a replacment wire on a Hi-tec reciver using the wire recomended via a forum, correct length and same gauge, Worked fine till the car got 4 feet away!

Be warned, I would buy the proper replacment wire if you can buy spares. If not check before you use it.
