New B44.1 homemade Body

Hi!
Just wanted to show you what I am doing between looking for new employment and taking care of my children. This is a vacuum formed shell I have been working on and it is made in Lexan. Hard to come by but finally I did. Built the vacuum box and bought the coolest vacuum cleaner ever to cope with the suckingpart of the project;)
Its is not all done yet and the stickers and paint is just to show how it looks so far.
It is called "Pioneer One" and it fits all B44.1 and my own new B44 conversion that I will show of just in time for EOS in Sweden. A ton of new and cool Ideas on that project.

West Ridge Racing 16-03-2011 04:36 PM

Thanks guys.
Yes, they Will go into production as soon as the final design is done. Not any major changes but some small adjustments. Going to lower the roofline à little and create some more lines here and there.
One more week from now and it Will be all finished.

Finally done but the guy who makes great paint jobs are in Poland and racing touring cars and I am off for an event tomorrow so I had to do this one myself. Not my greatest work but it shows off the shapes a little bit better than the all black one.
Shaved of 2mm of the roof and lowered it by 3mm. looks even better now.

Truly superb!!!! I think the paint jobs pretty good.

What kind of price were you thinking of for the shell and when do you plan to get the production line rolling?

Cheers, mark

Will there be one to fit the original B44?

West Ridge Racing 20-03-2011 09:31 PM

Around 18 euros a pop including postage and packing thru my paypal. Going to check up the best solution from Sweden to the U.K. Let me get back to you on that one.
Not looking to make any money really, just want to help those in need of a non cab forward shell that looks good:thumbsup:.
Got many nice remarks today at the race. I was hardly the fastest but the car looked the fastest anyway;).

And Whisker, you can modify your chassis rather easily to make it fit. Here is a pic what to dremel on your standars B44 chassi. http://rsb.se/gallery/files/2/6/4/6/dsc05970.jpg

When they hit production, I want one.

West Ridge Racing 21-03-2011 09:46 PM

Soon, very soon. Been experimenting with a thicker lexan sheets today and the result was very pleasing but there was à problem with bubbles inside The plastic itself. Apparently there is moist inside it that needs to be pre dried out first so I went back to the regular thickness again.

Have not got around to check The actual shipping fee het cus I have been busy designing my new conversion of the B44.
What do you think about à new lipo retainer system that only requires two parts to fasten the packs instead of 6 as it is now? 4 blue little nuts and two straps. You will be able to swap your lipos for fresh ones in matter of seconds;)

Going to ask the boring question here, what hoover did you use? A bog standard supermarket own or something more fancy?

West Ridge Racing 22-03-2011 07:44 PM

I guess a hoover is The vacuum cleaner, right? I use a fancy Philips Fc 9171. 2200W. The standard one I vad was not up for The job. This one is.
