weight in B4.1

Guys, whats the most popular weights, where and how much in the B4.1

I'm considering the rudebits under servo (36gm) and under Lipo (50gm)

Is this the norm or would I be better going for the heavier 72 under the servo?

Does adding weight not increase tyre wear?

Thanks

Also after an idea on what is required weight wise.

I'm personally looking at the trishbits front and rear bulkheads or the rudebits servo / under lipo.

Thanks

Think I've got a 120g in mine, under servo and lipo.

Give Tony @ Rudebits a call, he a great bloke and will also offer advice

in my vega b4.1 i use 28g under servo, 90g under speedo and reciever, offroad i use 67g under lipo and indoor i dont have any weight under lipo

I didn't realise the vega was exactly the same car as the B4.1. Because unless it is, it makes no difference what weight is run in it because it's a different car...

LOL @ Col. Yeh I thought the same.

My B4.1 weighs 1650g at race ready. All the additional weight is under Lipo only..... basically ive brought the weight distribution back to how it was when it ran Nimhs.

Hi,

I have the same question,
I run still brushed with lipo (so heavier motor)
What weight should I use?

Btw I run on dirt too..

Is it? Anybody got weights to compare? As I don't think there is much difference.

Just weighed a Reedy 19t brushed motor and it was 170g, my Novak Velociti 7.5 weighs in at 187g (including sensor wire).

Col, have another LOL!

Oh, Ok
Tought it brushless would be lighter..

TBH I was surprised at the difference between them

 Its only the brushes that are missing, they weigh almost nothing...

Martijn 05-04-2011 03:56 PM

Ok,

At the moment I'm running without any weight.
Sometimes it's a bit slippier but I think I just have to brake a little bit more.

Was thinking about buying the Associated B4.1 weigt, to put at the antisquad brace and the ghea front hinge pin brace, to balance it.

Chrislong 05-04-2011 05:17 PM

Its your choice Martijn, personally I drove the B4 best when I ran Nimh, and find it difficult running a Lipo (light weight) car. So to compensate it makes more sense to put the weight back where it has been lost from, hence the brass plate under the Lipo.

Lipo sheet is cheap, and easy to cut. Have an play.

There are some lightweight brushless motors, the Novak L series and Team Powers, iirc.

It was the gauge of wire in the Novaks that was lighter, not the overall weight of the motor.

My mistake! The Team Powers Super Lite motors, in addition to sounding like a cigarette brand, weight 140g. They have a short can, 44.5mm long. They aren't on the Mod or 10.5 BRCA lists, mind.
