hobbywing 80a is it good enough?
 
Hi all,
Would appreciate some input want to start up 1/8 electric i have rc8 to convert and i am on very tight budget heard that 80a hobbywing 80a esc is ok but do you think it better just save some more money or this will do just for bashing, any help please?

itll be ok as long as you dont try and put too much of a motor in the car, you would be better off looking at the 150 amp version, at least you know you arent going to blow it up. have a look around as well for a secondhand mamba monster, they seem to be appearing now and then and are capable of higher voltage. the 80a ezrun is 4 cell max, i think the 150a is six cell but not sure.

Thanks for the reply have seen hobbyking 150a esc on their website like the look of spec and it goes to 6s which is good but weary of buying from aboard what do u think?

I've just bought the 150A speedo and it's great. Put it with a 2250kv hobbywing motor and all is well.

Ordering overseas? Don't worry about it, lots of people do it all the time.
