New steering link for FS2!!!
 

As you can see below this is the new Steering link for the FS2....

Made by Vega, and it includes the existing holes. Made from alloy....

What's the price, how does the new geometry compare to the other variants on this theme and what improvement can I expect if I buy one?

The holes are very close to what is already available, but you also have the existing holes (kit standard)
Main difference is, it is straight replacement.... no adding parts or dremmel work. It wont rub on the front diff output either.

You will get all the steering everyone has been looking for, plus if you race somewhere where you don't need it you can just move to the kit holes!!!

I believe they will be around £25 mark...

Some stats:

Standard FS2 steering assembly - 4g
Current steering link as seen on here - 17.5g
Vega steering link - 6g

As far as i am aware the first batch made today sold out in an hour!!!!

Where do we order these from? I like the idea of being able to revert back to kit geometry without stripping the steering assembly :thumbsup:

Same sort of concept as what you got. Best way to do it!!!

Yes it's alloy, but it won't bend. Has been tested and more than strong enough. Slightly different hole positions to your original for maximum effect. Plus all five options. Look forward to seeing it on your car ;)

Seeing as there are 5 holes now, will you be providing details of what handling characteristics we can expect by using each of them?

Mine arrived today - beautifully made piece!

What thickness of spacers are you Vega guys running under the inner ball stud (steering) with this part? Thinking about bump steer etc...

And I presume that the inner rear hole is the same as kit and the outer front is the most extreme steering? By that token, is the outer rear equivalent to the Ellis mod?

OK, running 0 washers on the Vega link and 0 on steering knuckle gives me massive bump-in. Currently settled on 3mm washers on the steering knuckle and 0 on the Vega link which just about eradicates it. Like a prat, didn't pay much attention to how the kit pieces behaved...:blush:

Try using the low-hieght (silver)ballstud on the steering link and the Black standard one on the outside, that way you should need 1mm under the outer stud and none under the inside, HTHs

That would only be try of the tall ball joints, the ones with 2mm spacers built in. The part number escapes me at this moment but I'm sure if you ordered from a stockist that knows K cars (JE Spares) then I am sure they will sort it out for you.

Thanks for the advice Simon and Roger. Sounds like my 3mm on the outside is about right then (2mm raised ballstud + 1mm washer).

which hole do you use? and any spacers on the link and steering knuckle?

got mine today and gonna use it on the fs2sp. :-) looking forward to answers and tips.

I've been using outer middle hole and its god plenty of steering :)
