This is interesting because i run my 1st national race on carpet in 7 days.
Did you have the convertion on Ansmann bb or normal one.

Your carpet have hight gripp, normal or small?
If any other driver have a setup i'm interesting.

What is "Lead sheet under lipos"
Did you use other alum option on the front and rear, beacause i've putt them

I race on high grip carpet every week Ben so I will post my current set-up after tommorow night.

Looks like tom has a sheet of roofing lead underneath his batteries. A bit like the brass plates your friend red has made.

What tyres are you using tom?

Thats quite close to my indoor set up apart from the 2mm washers under the front bulkhead, good to see set ups fairly close to each other, just need to find one that works in the wet on astro now.

The 2mm is under the ball stud, helps take away the snatcy steering

Robbiejuk 04-03-2011 01:24 PM

Snatchy?? I would love my car to be snatchy:o Maybe I should try something else other than staggers on the front :D

ben44 04-03-2011 01:56 PM

I don't find in the traduction "Snatchy" could you halp me.

We will use mini pin on the rear, it's an obligation during national race.
And in the front i will use the stigger cut or normal. I'm very good dreiver soo i think the front minipin are too hard for me ... (but i've one pair in my box tire ;) ).

I see you give the information faor losi and shum dumper, did you have them for the Ansmann, the big bore and the normal one because i use them.

Tom3012 04-03-2011 06:40 PM

I only have the Big Bore shocks, my car is a converted mad rat so didnt have the standard shocks unfortunately...

When i say "snatchy"... I found the car to be smooth part way through the corner but then all of a sudden the front would grip and fling the rear end round, putting the 2mm under the front ball stud helped to smooth the steering out and make it more consistant through the hole corner..

Hope that helps?

Regards, Tom

I tried washers on the rear motor car and wasnt keen on it, preffered to have a more direct steering, not tried on the mid motor car yet, tried staggered ribs indoors and just didnt have enough steering for me and much prefer mini pins, slightly worns ones give me just the right amount of steering and with a few tweaks on the radio I can get it just about where I like it, finding outdoors on wet astro im struggling to get something near the rear motor car, started using yellow losi springs with 27.5 oil and its almost the same but the rear just gives way at times when i least expect it,
may have something to do with being freezing cold and cant really feel my fingers when your stood on Coventrys rostrum and just not really getting the throttle feel right,
kind of feel it may be worth using the rear motor car outdoors in low grip conditions and the mid motor car in high grip conditions.
im sure come the summer it will get a lot better when we start racing on grass.

Not sure how easy it would be to do, but it would great to have it so you can edit them online and post them up on the Ansmann site, I know xray and I think durango do the same.
