LRP X12 vector 7.5t stuttering
I have got an LRP 7.5t X12 it was stuttering like h*ll and i have just fitted a new sensor board and tried it again and it is still the same and getting hot very quickly
Any ideas Thanks |
I had this and so have a couple of others i know of..only seems to be the X12 7.5???
I tried sensor wire, new rotor.. everything possible realy but no joy! I sent mine back to Jono at SMD and he replaced it though at a cost.. mine was over 12months old.. but if yours is under 12months old you may get it changed over no probs.. |
lrp x12
hi mate it could be a bearing seizing up mine did a similar thing last week then stopped dead replaced the bearing s and now as good as new
|
Bearings in mine were fine, they were checked and oiled (this should be done frequently in X12's as then run quite hot and dry the bearings out...)
LRP sell a very handy bearing removal tool  |
I had the same problem with a brand new X12 7.5.
I found the winding in the motor had so much slack in it that it had vibrated/worn the laquer of itself and was intermittently shorting - causing loads of heat, interference, glitchy power etc etc. I tightened up the winding - removing about 50mm of wire and resoldered it all back. Works fine now |
My gt4 21x2 is doin the same too. I have just taken it apart again and it looks as though some of the plastic that holds the bearing has started to melt! I have only had it a month. It does seem to get hot quickly. The armature still seems to be spinning correctly and freely also I have two washers and I am not sure which order they go back in. Any ideas?

Also, if the capacitor is broken it could cause nearly similar symptoms... |
