Hi Dan,

We have a club in Devon/Somerset, Tiverton Radio Controlled Car Club, and we race 1/10th Off Road in Wellington.

We race 2wd as that is what everyone races, mainly B4's. I would advise getting a second hand B4 if you are going to race down here as it is the most common buggy used, therefore having the best trackside support.

We also have a touring car track where there is quite often a heat of touring cars.

This is our website with the information, feel free to contact if you would like futher info. www.TRCCC.co.uk

Hey Dan,

We have a club in Weston-super-mare that race Micros :D We're just off actually in banwell, if you check out our section on www.uk-microrc.co.uk under 'WORM' then feel free to come down and have a look :)

As for cars we race Micros, the newest car out is the Carisma GT14B which is competitive at the nationals out of the box. For £180 you get the complete car, brushless system, 2.4ghz radio, the lot! Take a look on www.uk-microrc.co.uk and see what you think, come and take a look one night, we race Tuesday evenings every fortnight :)

Hi Dan, before you spend your hard earned cash I would recommend coming along to a WORM meeting to see what we run and to give you an idea of where best to spend your money.

Next meeting is on the 8th if you can make it.

Here's a link to our section on Uk-microrc - http://www.uk-microrc.co.uk/forum/in...?showforum=222

and bring Big Rob with you

The next best option after Tiverton (outdoors, 10th only) and WORM (indoors micro only) you have is Caldicot...it's indoor's and runs every Friday evening (all year round), racing starts at 8pm...only down side is it's just the other side of the old severn bridge.

I drive over from Weston as well, it's about 40 mins usually, and we run mostly 10th offroad (2wd or 4wd) and micros. B4 is popular choice for starting out, and what I always suggest as good choice for 10th scale offroad, as it's also a car that can grow with you as it still runs in the A finals at the nationals in the hands of some of the best drivers in the world.

We have a good number of newbies right now, so there's a race for every ability. Tons of advice available and the shop that's usually at the club sells the spares, which is dead handy.

Dan and Si osbourne are regulars as well, and we have quite a few who make the trip over from this side of the bridge to go.

The South West doesn't quite have the numbers or tracks (currently ;-) of some other regions in the country, but a few options for you to pick from (quality not quantity ;-) )...or just go to all of them once the bug has bitten, as we all run on different days!

We have a section on here, and our own website...www.caldicotrcracers.co.uk

Plus some vids on youtube if hunt them down! I have a channel on there called BluePinkyRC with some vids, but there are others on there as well.

I would go along with what Dan Osborne said. Worm is very close in Hutton and for £180(i presume it can still be had for £180) you can have a GT14B which is superbly made competitive car complete with 2.4 gig radio gear and a good brushless system. Which is a bit of a bargain really.

It's big enough to bash with if you want as long as you stick to BMX tracks car parks and freshly cut grass.

RobPaynter 03-03-2011 04:17 PM

Who makes the gt14b ?

leeleefocus 03-03-2011 04:21 PM

Carisma
