B4 diff oil

Can anybody recommend some diff oil to use please? I don't have any black grease around but have some 5k and 3k. Would either of these be ok?

Is this for the ball or gear diff?
If ball, then you need to use grease and not the black stuff, that's for the thrust race.
For the gear diff, sorry I have no idea!

No.

Diff oil is for geared diffs. You need the proper grease and only that - AE Black Grease is for the thrust race, Silicone Diff Grease is for the bigger main balls.

It's for the main ball diff. I'll get hold of some grease :)

it must be silcone diff grease

Do you think you would get away with thermal transfer grease? Its pretty cheap :)
So the oil is only for the gear type diffs then? Can someone link some grease from ebay that would work? thanks

No, you wouldn't get away with thermal transfer grease.

Use this on the main balls:

And this on the thrust:

We take paypal, pm me if you just want to send us a paypal payment, and we'll sort the rest.

Hi thanks for the help
Just want to confirm the stealth diff oil is for ball diffs because other people are saying use grease and this looks like oil?

Thanks again

peetbee 02-03-2011 11:28 PM

What looks like oil? The tube that Simon linked to?
If so then it is grease in a tube, not oil.

Go with the Schmacher stuff, these are the two types you need,if they are the same seller they might combine postage...

EDIT- White grease for the main diff balls & the black grease for the thrust balls

Hi there
I already have ceramic diff balls (12) to fit, is it worth picking up some ceramic thrust balls too (6)? Has anyone had any experience with them - worthwhile upgrade? If they cut down on maintainence that would be great.
