dx3s cutting out

does anyone know why my tranny keeps dropping connection? at first it was my batt was running down to 4.8v in the tranny, but this time the batt was still on 5.3v which should be enough surely?

cant be a range issue as the buggy was only about 30m away maximum at all times.

keeps flashing up no telementy connection as if the buggy is switched off.

Last time I raced at Bury mine kept flashing no telemetry but I didn't have any problems with it cutting out. It actually felt more connected than my old 27MHz gear did.

doesnt so much cut out just loses all signal for split second here and there, its a strange one and occasionally stops you from being a smooth driver.

you going to be up in bury next meet?

The write up for that tranny says
"The typical telemetry range is 100–200 feet and will vary depending on the operating environment"

30m would put you at the edge of the lower limit if conditions were wrong

30m maximum, usually around 15 - 20m

does it happen when on full throttle and steering?

captainlip 19-02-2011 02:47 PM

Most times yes

ch!3f 19-02-2011 03:04 PM

it will be your receiver try a power cap with it then it should be fine.

alot of people tend to suffer from this problem you would think spektrum would either include 1 with there radio sets or advise to use 1 or even better build 1 in to the receivers.

some people are lucky and dont have the problem and kick up a fuss saying it not the radio but why do people have the issue?

Whiskers 19-02-2011 03:06 PM

Does it happen outdoors as well?

run a power cap already needed it for the esc glitching

Whiskers 19-02-2011 03:32 PM

Does the aerial still go over the top of the esc?

captainlip 19-02-2011 03:34 PM

yes needs to so it reaches the tube

Whiskers 19-02-2011 03:39 PM

have you tried it with it away from the esc?

captainlip 19-02-2011 03:41 PM

yup all the same, this doesnt happen all the time but when it does its totally random.

Whiskers 19-02-2011 03:43 PM

Is it at a certain distance or just when it feels like it?

captainlip 19-02-2011 03:46 PM

when it feels like it.

ch!3f 19-02-2011 05:06 PM
