Hi Lee, could you ship 511kit to outside UK? such as to Asia

Lee Martin 17-02-2011 09:45 AM

Yeh, this is possible I think.

mattybucks 17-02-2011 10:20 AM

I also have a 511 on ebay ending today. Will post worldwide at buyers own cost. :p

Oscar 17-02-2011 10:31 AM

C'mon guys, lets play fair to everyone and keep things that are for sale in the "FOR SALE" section only please ;)

jimmy 17-02-2011 12:19 PM

I know someone has been complaining about Lee's post because they had their own for-sale post deleted or moved from this area.

Lee's post isn't a personal item he's selling - he's announcing the availability of a rare and hard to find car without mentioning price or linking to it in his / their shop.
This is absolutely FINE in my opinion. Whether Lee's advertising or not is another matter but new or rare products often get mentioned by shops when they come into stock - I'm sure it happened with the Cougar and the 201X and I'm sure when the SX3 comes out there'll be a couple of shops proud to annouce they have it in stock on day of release. This doesn't really belong in the for-sale section - shops don't belong in the for-sale section.

I'm happy for Lee to pay and have a TRF advertiser forum and a banner somewhere - But for this small 'ad' I hardly think even that's necessary.

Lee Martin 17-02-2011 03:24 PM

'happy for Lee to pay'

Haha! That comment made my day....
It's a strange strAnge world when people are unhappy to receive money ;)

Thanks though jimbob. And as he says, I know people have struggled for so long to get 511s, so were pushing the limits to make them readily available for you all. Fair play if you sell your car on eBay! I really don't mind how people get there tamiyas as long as they get them, get the backup and support they need and enjoy racing them!! The latter of which we trying to succeed in doing!

I think its great that Lee has made these available.

I probably would have got one instead of ordering from the U.S.

I have never bothered with TRF (mainly) due to lack of support in the UK and i'm sure i'm not alone.

Agreed as that's why I've steered away from Tamiya stuff before.

mattybucks 17-02-2011 03:48 PM

It is dissapointing that the Hobby Company don't support such a great/successful car (well in the right hands anyway).

It is an amazing car and the more people who our able to get there hands on one the better. TRF domination day - (Round One Taplow) was awesome.

Are you able to get spares as well Lee?

mikeyscott 17-02-2011 03:57 PM

It's the spares aspect that has pushed me over to Durango for the moment.

To be honest I've run the car for a while and the only parts I have broken are wishbones, and hinge pins, and a shock shaft. I broke a top deck once (hard hit from another 511), but Fred made me another one, and the car was repaired within a week.

Alot of people break towers but they are can again be made.

Spares arn't really a problem, unless of course you bend a bulkhead. It sounds bad but you get a load of parts from a 501. It's definatly the car to have.

I'll be racing my other two for the forseeable future.
