buggys and carpet....damage?!?
hi.....im after people opinions regarding running buggys on carpet.....
do buggys running minipins damage the prima racing carpet in anyway?? some off the touring car guys are moaning at our local club saying that they have suffered a loss off grip since we started running buggys there. they say its fluffing the pile up on the carpet......would that be the case? any info and previous experiences would be great!! thanks. |
What tyres do they use, and do they run addative?
as i have heard of probs if they use slick/foam tyres with addative, as mini pins are more agressive and can change the lay of the pile:confused: |
there running schumacher yellow mini pins which are more or less bald mate
what foams and slicks are people using, where they geting them from? |
there moaning because they dont want you to race buggies there basiclly!
because your all using new mini pins it will rough the carpet up but shouldnt effect then really if there using similar tyres, fair enough they run them till there dead but thats there fault for been tight and not buying new tyres. p.s you wont damage the carpet any more then they are using mini pins |

pins line the nap up on the carpet, so if you are racing any form of slick tyre, you have a massive loss in grip. We ended up using foams and additive to overcome the lack of grip and banned pins.

thanks for the help and advice fellas.....ill pass all the info on to the guys!

we use these. ^ Takes a bit of doing. I strip the inner ribs of regular wheels and mount the tires Mardave style. one tire will do two wheels. (I expect someone will tell you a better way of doing it) |
do you just glue the foams to the rim then??
ive heard some say they use thin double sided tape and that works well.... |
