Aren't maggots ace.....

Last night me and the missus thought, 'sod cooking we'll go and get something quick to do from the supermarket'

So we went down to tesco's and purchased one of their lovely pre-cooked hot chickens, and some 'slap in the microwave' veg and mash.

Got home started to cut through the chicken, only to see two maggots in the carcas of the chicken.

hmmmm, nice.:eh?:

needless to say we didn't feel like havingthe chicken after that.

Every little helps Tel :D.....seriously i hope to took it back and raised the roof ..

Dead, cooked, maggots presumably? Not that it makes it acceptable, just trying to figure out, at what stage the maggots got there.

I got a bag of prepared salad with a dead moth in from Tesco once. Annoyingly I didn't notice it until after I opened it. As it was I took it back. I was asked if I wanted a replacement, I replied, "At the very least!". I got £10 vouchers as well. If I hadn't opened the packet I might have hung out for more, but I didn't have proof that it was there when I bought it.

Probably more nutrition in those two maggots than a chicken anyway !! Probably charge you extra for that !!!

What's a moggot? :eh?:

Northy 14-11-2007 12:06 PM

It's a cross between a cat and a maggot, it's a very strange creature indeed.
I like them.

Ah okay - thanks for clearing that up for me. I knew I should have paid more attention in biology classes.

if it is a very great height it will have time to turn into a fly so in theory no it wont die :p

so it will land on it's feet if dropped from a great height...

RLGfx 14-11-2007 12:44 PM

only if it's not dead...

MK999 14-11-2007 01:36 PM

and it would have to have feet too, maggots don't

Chris Green 14-11-2007 01:44 PM

Moggots have feet though.

RLGfx 14-11-2007 01:47 PM

they're great for bait when you go seafishing for dogfish...

telboy 14-11-2007 02:01 PM

They were cooked, and inside the chicken. so obviously, you couldn't notice 'em until yu cut the chicken up.

We were gonna take it back to tesco, but then the missus called enviro' health, they're now examining it at great depth.

They've obviously got there in the warehouse before being cooked, so it makes you wonder how many more have them in.:o

G, you're ace......

.....moggot, cat and maggot.:D

James 14-11-2007 06:21 PM

go to a good butchers and get proper 'grub' instead (:D:D) and stop those pesky supermarkets screwing us farmers..

Did you know the biggest pre-prepared sandwich (and similar stuff) factory in europe is 2 min from the worksop indoors track? they make 1,000,000 sandwiches/week, law of averages says theres gotta be a few dodgy ones :wtf:

telboy 14-11-2007 10:00 PM

its not your farm that supply tesco chickens is it james?:D:rolleyes:

Off topic, where the outdoor track at blyth?

DCM 14-11-2007 10:13 PM

enviromental health should have a hey day with the store then.... as in theory, before the chicken is stuck on the rotiserie, it should be rinsed out, unless it comes pre-packaged ready to cook.... doh....
