Also, I beleive its really cheap in France for some reason!.

I just raided boots and brought 1.5L in 250mm bottles for £6 - just taken the 4 wheels out and it works!

Hi Guys,

Just wondering about Acetone, i have never used this before.

Since this winter i have been running 2wd & 4wd so much, found i have used well over 15sets wheels for both cars started to understand why ppl use this stuff due to the costs of wheels nowadays

Just wondered if anyone could tell me how do you use this stuff also if i get 5L of this how long does last?

Just like some advise on it before i try using it, also does it cause any affects to the wheels at all?

First time for me, no longer a virgin!.

Its VERY easy. Cut open tyres and take out foam to reuse. Cut as much rubber off the rim as possible, leaving 5 or 10mm is fine.

Submerge into the acetone and leave for 24hours. Take out and just peel off the remianing rubber.

Acetone disolves the super glue. Leave acetone in the a tub to reuse time after time.

Simples  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nqwtoF19CA

Look on youtube for how to's etc.

Nuclear RC for acetone

Thanks for the link awasome, just one more question to you guys.

Have you ever found problems with the tire coming undo from the wheels that have been already re-used & dipped by Acetone?

Dudders 13-02-2011 07:39 PM

No, as Acetone is a solvent and evaporates.

Ive heard that if you put the wheels in an airtight container with a small amount of acetone in a cup the vapour is enough to desolve the glue. Has anyone tried this?

I just boil my wheels to get the tyres off but its quite messy.

Nuclear RC acetone is OFFICIALLY the best on the market and the cheapest.
Neil just get it - Dave maybe you should leave some with me!
Neil I have a spare gallon if you need it - sort out payment with Dave and he will just replace it for me.
See - Luv is in the air !!!

It is correct that the vapour from acetone is enough to resolve the glue and take off the tyre. But you will still have a nasty glue sirup left on the wheels if they are not submerged in acetone

Dudders 13-02-2011 07:55 PM

Tony, you harrasser!, you stalking me? I was thinking about stocking a load but you might be better to do (+mark up) for the local lads. Seems no where locally to buy this stuff (unless you know better?)

Bring a car load Belsten!
