B4 chasis snapping

Is it common for a b4 chasis to keep snapping

racingdwarf 12-02-2011 12:27 AM

:woot: never done one on mine in over 4 years, never seen one go at club, have seen a couple at big indoor meets, worksop etc, wouldn't say it common

More common with k factory style tower. Ae shock tower breaks are more common and cheaper to fix.

We have snapped 3 in three weeks :-(

Usually a chassis snaps once, after that you are supposed to replace it ;)

Where do you keep snapping them. If its in the front, do you have alu. parts there (e.g. front bulkhead / shocktower mounts etc.) ?
Sometimes an alu bulkhead will have sharp edges that make small cuts in the chassis during a big crash. After that all you need is a minor tap to full fill the divorce of the front and rear end of the car.

ive only done 1 and is not a common thing to break and i only broke it cuz i fit a wall square on at top speed, but if youve got loads of alloy on it then thats your problem

Seen it happen on a very heavy landing, but only once and was running a brass bulk head.

Not 1 bit of alloy anywhere???

You running the "carbon" or plastic one?

I've found plastic parts to be a bit more brittle if it's really cold outside...?

Is it the same track and what kind of crashes?

since the b4 came out, i have never seen a broken chassis. THIS YEAR I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL. the plastic looks different to me than before
