Where to buy a new b4 not b4.1
 

I read that you can buy a b4 ft cheaper now,but i carnt find any?.Any help..i run touring car at the moment and want a b4.I looked at the b4.1 and as nice as it is,will i see a differance at beginer level to a b4
I would like new so do i get the b4 and save some money?
Or try to find a mint b4.1?

Personally, id go for the B4.1. The differences aren't that drastic, but thats because the B4 was already awesome anyway.... but hey, may aswell get the best?! :thumbsup:

Hate to say it but I dis-agree with Chris (sorry mate). As much as everyone says the moulds are better on the new B4.1, sadly NOT everyone agrees that the plastic used in them is as good now :cry:

The original B4 Factory Team kits are now excellent value for money since they are now reduced to just £149.95 (from £219.99) they are great value for money compared to the newer B4.1.

I agree fully that the V2 slipper is now much better and the V2 shocks too on the B4.1, but you could still add these at a later date if needed, everyhting else to me is not too essential.

The reason you may not find the B4 Factory team around anyhwere is because we brought all of the kits left at CML when they cleared them out. With our connections to X-Factory, these kits are ideal for anyone wanting to buy an X6 Sq conversion and B4 seperately (even though we now have the X6 Sq EC complete kit available) so it made sense for us to buy as many as we could, so brought them all :thumbsup:.

We are down to our last 7 or 8 now and when they are gone there wont be any more, but if you do decide to go the original B4 FT route then please check out our website (www.dms-racing.com) where you will find them still in stock.

I got my B4FT from DMS at Christmas and I fitted the new bleeder caps on the shocks.
At £150 it was a steal!

You should have been reading the FOR SALE section fella, i just sold a B4.1 which had been run twice indoors with a load of spares for £145 posted!!

Anyway another mate found me a mint second hand b4 ft,six months old,run indoor.£80.

That's the thing... one can now get KILLER deals on used, recent FTB4s that people are selling to get a B4.1... it's not uncommon to find GBP80 cars that are pristine. Go this route and find a "reliable" used B4FT, don't bother buying it new now anymore.

I had both a b4 and b4.1 and honestly the differences between both kits are worth it, if only for the V2 shocks and rear knuckles. The rest, granted, plastic quality has dropped significantly but this is not hampering performance.

So how would these older B4 factory team kits differ from a new B4.1 RTR?

To add the essentials to race, (for a new comer to the sport, so easier driving rather than ultimate speed) how much would you budget for a £150 B4 factory kit? Another £100? £150?

Would quite like to build my first car, but the RTR price is hard to beat.

Which kit do you think I'd be spending more on sooner, in terms of upgrades, as my ability and skills grow?

The RTR B4.1 has the V1 unthreaded shocks & the FT B4 has the threaded version (they are otherwise identical).
The FT B4 also has better turnbuckles and the alloy front wishbone brace which are about the only upgrades you would need over the RTR versions.

Buying new radio gear and motor/speedo you would be looking around £160ish on top of the FT B4. You need to budget for a battery and charger on top of both options PLUS springs & tyres to suit your local track.

Edited to add - forgot to say the B4.1 RTR has a gear diff but the FT B4 has a ball diff

... to add I see DMS Racing also a list a B4 RS Race Spec RTR for £184

So where does this fit into the mix? A fully built RTR with transmitter and motor?

How does this compare to the B4 Factory Team kit which costs less at £150

Still undecided over B4.1 RTR or an older B4 kit, new or second hand and adding motor, ESC and radio electronics?

The RS RTR comes with a brushed motor and speed controller and possibly only a 27mhz radio - definitely items you would want to replace! (possibly over time if your budget is tight)

The easiest way to answer this is to work out what your budget is and if you need everything as you are starting from scratch.
