Losi 22 wheel hex size
 

Hi all dose anyone know what size the wheel hex's are on the 22.... are the same as tc

12mm tall
4mm deep

..Maybe a little off topic..
Does anyone know whether standard crosspin wheels do fit the rear 22 axles without using the hexes?
If so would this shrink the car's width?
Is anyone thinking about some adapters to be used to fit the standard crosspin wheels?:confused:

My understanding is they do fit but you will have to ream out the axel hole in the wheel as the new axles are bigger

That's right: the 22 axles should be 5mm.
My fear is that the hex contributes to the car's width, so that without the hex you loose about 4mm per side..

I finally have completed the building of my brand new 22!:wub
I checked the crosspin / hex issue: installing standard Associated rims on the axle crosspin (removing the hex) reduces width by 2mm on each side.
I am wondering if it is possible to machine an adapter mating with the axle crosspin and reproducing another crosspin with a 2mm offset.
At first glance it seems impossible as the typical crosspin seat is 2mm deep.
2mm deep seat + 2mm offset = not enough material left.
Any ideas?

But anyone for a serious answer to my question?
I have a lot of tires (several are new) mounted on standard Associated wheels.
I would reaaly like to use them on the 22...

Get urself some Acertone... It's good for desolving super glue! Leave ur wheels and tyres soaking for a few hours (I usually leave mine over night) and then ul be able to get the tyres off the old rims without damaging them! I'd replace the inserts with new ones as they may not look so great after a good soaking in liquid but inserts are only a few quid. Make sure u clean the tyres up making sure I've got all the old glue off, then ul be able to re-glue them onto ur losi rims!

Acetone isn't cheap but worth while getting so that u can remove old tyres when they wear out and replace with new ones, without the expense of buying new wheels everytime u need new tyres!

U can definately buy acetone via eBay but postage is high due to the nature of the substance! You can try and buy ladies nail polish remover as this contains acetone but they dilute it quite a lot and it doesn't work anywhere nar as good!

We have measured the width by removing the hexagons and using old Losi wheels, and is exactly the same as using the new tires with hexagons.
Someone else has measured this?
And to use the old tires, you just need to polish a bit the shaft. If you do this, you can use both, as you need to polish it not very much.

I guess this has been made for everybody to buy new wheels, as it has not sense

I will chack again the with of the car after installing standard Associated wheels, yet I'm pretty sure it is slightly narrower.
